FAQs
Our fees depend on the complexity and time spent on individual matters. In most cases agreements are reached as regards fees to be charged at inception, and where exact fees cannot be ascertained then an estimate will be given specifying a ceiling. Legal Practitioners’ fees are regulated in land matters and in some company/commercial matters. Legal Practitioners and clients have been known to enter into an agreement(s) as regards fees chargeable. Consultation fees are also chargeable.
Costs are out-of-pocket expenses necessary for the prosecution and or pursuit of contentious and non-contentious matters. Filling fees, cost of depositions, cost of translation of documents, and notarization are examples of such costs. Costs are usually paid on account by clients, and in some cases advanced by the firm on behalf of our clients. Accounts will be rendered periodically or at completion.
The global trend is Dispute Resolution/Arbitration, thus attempts are usually made to settle matters amicably before proceeding to the courts. This can be done anytime before, during, and in some cases even when the outcome of a matter has been decided.
