The Firm was established in 1981 by Sigismund Babalola Joseph who had been in active practice since 1966 when he was first called to the English Bar at the Inner Temple, in England, and then to the Nigerian Bar in 1969.

Sigismund Babalola Joseph started his practice in Nigeria with the Law Firm of COKER & SIKUADE Solicitors, a partnership that was established in 1958, and based in Lagos .The partners were Chief Dahunsi Olugbemi Coker and Mr. Akin O. Sikuade, both of blessed memories.

Chief D.O. Coker was later elevated to the High Court Bench in the then Western State of Nigeria in 1972, and appointed as the first Attorney General of Ogun State in 1976.

Hon. Justice D.O Coker returned to the Bench upon his elevation to the Federal Court of Appeal in 1977, and to the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1985 from where he retired upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of sixty-five after a meritorious service to his country.

Mr. Akin O. Sikuade was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 1993.
